I love autumn. It brings on such a time of reflection that it just makes you want to sit down and think about your life. There is just something about this time of the year when the leaves begin to fall that you all of a sudden look up into the sky and start to wonder.
Maybe it is because after the summer of late night drinking and non-stop parties, the start of autumn is a time of reflection of the year ahead. It is always around autumn that I have to stop myself in the street and ask; can it really be May already?
Don’t get me wrong, although I may wonder where the year has gone already, I love autumn. Its that time of year when you look out at the sun sets and really appreciate them on a clear day. The colours in the sky just seem so different in this part of the world, that anything seems possible. Even the impossible.
There is just something about the air that seems different too. You can smell it at the change of every season, but its autumn in particular that always smells the best. The nights get colder too, but that is just a good excuse to find someone to snuggle next to to keep warm.
It has to be said that there is no doubt that winter fashion far outranks the flowing dresses of summer. Winter is all about long boots and short jackets. Colourful scarfs and matching gloves, cute as pie hats to keep your ears warm and endless cups of hot chocolate with extra marshmallows.
In my next life, I am determined - despite my complete inability to ski - to come back as a snow bunny. Matching beanie, boots and all!
